This year South by Southwest Musical Festival Muse will be delivering a grand performance. The festival will commence in the third week Of March in Austin, Texas. The date of the performance has not yet been confirmed by the band officially but some sources have reported that the British trio will be performing on Saturday, March 20 at Stubb’s. Other bands that have been included as performers in the festival include Spoon, Street sweeper social club, Band of Horses, Jakob Dylan with Neko Case and Motor Head. Muse is currently busy in a North American arena tour. The tour started back in February with a show in Atlanta. The drummer Dominic Howard said that the significance of choosing Atlanta for the tour was ‘to prove that they're not jinxed.’ He was actually referring to the last performance of the band in Atlanta in 2004. He said, “I don't think we even got through the first song, I think we began with a track called 'Citizen Erased,' and Matt (Matthew, singer/guitarist) smashed his lip completely in two on the end of his guitar, and we were forced to cancel the show because he was just spitting blood all over the stage." After 2004, Muse got the album Black Holes and Revelations nominated for a Mercury Prize in 2006. After that Muse gained popularity in North America as much as it received in its home country, Britain. The mainstream pop culture of North America has been influenced by the band's bombastic guitar rock. In 2009 the American Idol's runner-up Adam Lambert covered Muse's Starlight on the Idols Live tour. In his debut album he also included a song titled 'Soaked’ by Bellamy. For the Twilight Saga the band provided music for first two soundtracks. However, according to Howard, Muse will not be involved in the making of the third sound track. Muse's current album, The Resistance added to the band's success. It was at No. 1 in Canada and reached at No. 3 in the U.S. The album clearly reflected inspirations. Bellamy declared that George Orwell's classic 1984 was one particular inspiration. Matthew Bellamy (singer/guitarist) and Dominic Howard (drummer) played in two different bands at Teignmouth Community College in Devon, England. They came together and formed a band in 1994. The band was named originally as Rocket Baby Dolls. In early days of the career, the Rocket baby dolls were the winners of a local battle of the bands. Then they changed the name of the band to Muse. Muse moved to London and signed a deal. The band recorded its first album named as, "Showbiz,"in1999. The album was co-produced by John Leckie from Stone Roses and Radiohead.
