By now, you

By now, you’ve heard of and know about hybrid cars. The cars are the talk of the town and there are more owners than ever before. There is good reason for this and it’s timeto consider these alternative cars. How Hybrid Cars Work It is easy to understand how hybrid cars work. The term ‘hybrid’ depicts the fact that these vehicles run on a combination of electric and gasoline energy. This vehicle has an electric motor and a gasoline engine. Hybrid vehicles were manufactured to the requirement for a car that had the following characteristics: - used less gasoline - provided enough energy to power the car comparable to a gasoline car - produced less pollution Hybrids were the answer to these problems. They can function with less gas because they do not always work with gasoline engine. Furthermore, due to the fact that the gasoline motor design is somewhat different, the hybrid gives off less pollution. The combination of gasoline and electric power makes it a perfect alternative to a gasoline car. Past, Present and Future Previously, too much of the car’s operation was attached to the electric motor. It was only after reaching the perfect balance between the electric motor and the gasoline engine that hybrids became reliable and practical . Older models missed the power needed to accelerate, so what was done was a reconfiguration. Today’s models make use of the gasoline engine whenever more power is required, namely to reach higher speeds. The electric motor is is perfect for normal driving conditions and when more power is not needed. The automotive industry making the majority of their top-selling models into hybrid models and have created some novel lines that are 100% hybrid. The Toyota Prius is one of the most recognized models of hybrid cars in production. Besides cars, vans and even SUV’s in hybrid models. With our oil sources depleting, converting to an alternative such as hybrid cars is something we will all face. There will just be no other option. Gas prices seem to be on a never ending rise and as demand increases, production is decreasing. This is contributing to the high prices. Plus, our present methods are letting out way too much pollution. Our earth is showing signs everyday of damage provoked by our pollution. It is up to us to do what it takes to aid in reducing the damage being done to our planet. Driving a hybrid is a fantastic option.

Research for this article used references found at hybrid cars, where I learned how hybrid cars work and found references for the example of the hybrid model Toyota Prius
